Let me start with something most brokers won't say out loud: the insurance industry is not set up in your favour.
Call centres are designed to process volume, not to advise you. Direct writers โ the ones who only sell their own brand โ have exactly one number to give you, and that's their number. Comparison websites collect your data and sell it to the highest bidder. And the neighbourhood broker who's been around since 1987? They might be loyal to two or three carriers they've always used, not necessarily the ones that are best for you in 2026.
I'm not any of those things. And I want to tell you exactly why that matters for your wallet.
"My job is to work for you โ not for any single insurance company."
โ Anshik Sinha, Licensed Insurance BrokerThe Market Access No Single Company Can Match
When you go directly to Intact, Aviva, or Economical, you get their rate. That's it. No comparison. No negotiation. You either take it or you search manually, one company at a time.
When you come to me, I run your profile across 15+ carriers simultaneously โ including major insurers like Intact, Aviva, Economical, Wawanesa, Gore Mutual, Pembridge, Travelers, and several specialty carriers most consumers have never heard of but which consistently undercut the big-name premiums for certain risk profiles.
The result? In most cases, I find a meaningfully lower premium than what you'd find on your own โ with equal or better coverage. Not because I have a secret. Because I have access and I actually use it.

Especially at renewal when rates spike without warning
Auto + home combined policies from the same carrier
Real Situations. Real Savings.
I'll give you three examples โ the kind of situations I deal with regularly across Ontario.
A client in Hamilton came to me after their renewal jumped from $2,100 to $2,780 per year โ a 32% increase with no at-fault accidents, no tickets, and a clean driving record. Their insurer simply re-rated their area. I ran their profile and placed them with a different carrier at $1,890/year. Same coverage, $890 saved annually. They didn't even know they could switch mid-policy.
A first-time homeowner in Waterloo called me after their lender referred them to a specific insurer. The quote they received was $2,400 per year for a relatively new semi-detached home. After comparing, I placed them at $1,580/year with broader water damage coverage included. They bundled it with their auto and saved an additional $340.
A renovation contractor operating across the GTA contacted me after his previous broker quoted $4,200 for his Commercial General Liability (CGL) policy. He had one vehicle used for business and roughly $40,000 in tools and equipment. I placed him at $2,950 all-in โ CGL, tools floater, and commercial auto properly endorsed. He had been underinsured before. Now he was fully covered and paying $1,250 less.
These aren't anomalies. This is what happens when someone actually shops the market for you instead of presenting you with a single quote and calling it a day.
The Honest Truth About How I Get Paid
I'll be transparent here because most brokers aren't. I earn a commission from the insurer when I place your policy. That commission is baked into the premium โ you're not paying extra for my advice on top of your insurance cost. In fact, by accessing carriers you can't reach directly and comparing their pricing against each other, I typically save you far more than any advisor fee would cost.
I do not charge broker fees for personal lines. For commercial placements, I am always upfront if any arrangement differs from standard commission. You will never get a bill from me that surprises you.
"You deserve to know exactly what you're buying, who you're buying it from, and what it costs. I insist on that."
โ Anshik SinhaAuto Insurance โ What I Do Differently
Ontario's auto insurance is mandatory โ but how it's structured is not straightforward. The 2026 FSRA reforms turned several previously mandatory accident benefits into optional add-ons. Millions of drivers are now renewing into coverage gaps they don't know exist.
When I write your auto policy, I walk you through what the new SABS framework means for your specific situation โ your household, your income, whether you have group benefits through work, and what level of accident benefit coverage you actually need. I will never undersell your coverage just to hit a lower premium number and win your business.
What I cover for auto insurance across Ontario
- Standard & non-standard risks
- New drivers & G2 drivers
- Multi-vehicle households
- At-fault accident history
- High-value vehicles
- Classic & collector cars
- Commercial-use vehicles
- Ride-share (Uber/Lyft) coverage
Home Insurance โ Closing the Gaps
The most common complaint I hear from new home insurance clients is this: "I had a claim, and they covered almost nothing." That's usually because someone bought the cheapest policy without understanding what wasn't in it.
Water damage โ from sewer backup or overland flooding โ is one of the most common claims in Ontario and one of the most commonly excluded perils on a standard policy. I make sure these are addressed. I also look at replacement cost versus actual cash value, by-law coverage (critical for older homes that may require upgrades to code after a loss), and equipment breakdown. If you own a condo, the distinction between your unit's coverage and your condo corporation's master policy is something I explain in plain language, not fine print.
Commercial Insurance โ Built for How You Actually Work
Ontario's contractors, tradespeople, and small business owners are my fastest-growing client segment โ and for good reason. Most of them have been either underinsured, overcharged, or both.
A painter with no commercial auto endorsement on their personal vehicle. A general contractor with $80,000 in tools insured for $20,000. A cleaning company with no professional liability coverage operating in multi-unit residential buildings. I've seen all of it. The difference between a broker who understands trades and one who doesn't is the difference between a claim being paid and a claim being denied.
I write commercial coverage for electricians, plumbers, landscapers, renovation contractors, cleaners, couriers, consultants, retail, and more. If you're running a business in Ontario, I want to understand it โ and then find you coverage that actually fits.
Why Not Just Use a Comparison Website?
Comparison websites are useful for getting a ballpark. They're not useful for getting the right policy. The quotes they generate are estimates โ your actual premium changes once an underwriter reviews your full application. Many high-quality carriers simply don't participate in comparison platforms because they'd rather not compete on price alone.
More importantly: a website can't tell you whether the $180/month policy is actually worth it after you read the exclusions. I can. And I will.
"A cheap policy that doesn't pay your claim isn't cheap. It's the most expensive thing you ever bought."
โ Anshik SinhaThe Straightforward Case for Calling Me
You're not going to get a sales pitch from me. You're going to get questions โ about your driving record, your home's age and construction, your business operations, your claims history. Because the more I understand, the better I can place you.
You're going to get options, not an ultimatum. I'll show you what different carriers are offering and explain the trade-offs between them in plain English.
And you're going to get honesty. If you have a driving record that's making every carrier expensive, I'll tell you what's driving the cost and what โ if anything โ you can do about it. If your home is a risk that only specialty carriers will touch, I'll explain why and what that means for your coverage. I won't pretend I can get you a rate I can't get you.
What I can promise is this: I will work harder to find you the right coverage at the right price than any direct writer, any call centre, and any broker who isn't actively comparing the market on your behalf.
